Designer Plus began in the 1980s using the then current version of DesignCAD 3D. In the mid 1990s DesignCAD made decisions to abandon the traditional BasicCAD programming language for a Windows format program, with no backward compatibility. I decided not to rewrite a decade of development to a new language only because the manufacturer decided to make changes.

Using a panel saw as an analogy, DesignCAD 3D v4 was like a good solid 13" panel saw with a hard to use feed system (printing), and Designer Plus is an exceptional 13" saw blade, custom made for that saw. The manufacturer decides that an 11" blade diameter and square arbor would offer some enhanced feature, and the new versions of the same saw now will only support 11" blades with a square arbor hole, but do have decent feed systems. What I have done is, I kept the solid old saw with the exceptional blade, and use the feed system from the new model saw.

Using the above saw example:

The Complete package is both the old and the new model saws.

The Standard package is the old model saw and the new model feed system.
The Basic package is only the old model saw.

Complete packages:

This includes the latest DesignCAD Pro version, and Designer Plus. With this package you can draw, shade and texture map (if you don't want texture mapping look at the standard package). The picture above is a texture mapped drawing which was drawn with Designer Plus and textured with DesignCAD 3D Max. DesignCAD 3D v4, and Designer Plus use electronic documentation.

Standard Packages:

This includes the current 2-D version of DesignCAD, and Designer Plus. With this package you can produce line drawings. DesignCAD 3D v4, and Designer Plus use electronic documentation.

Basic Package:

This includes Designer Plus and the manual for DesignCAD 3D v4 on CD. With this package you can draw and shade. DesignCAD 3D v4, and Designer Plus use electronic documentation. Because of special pricing made available by IMSI this common serial numbered DesignCAD 3D v4 is not eligible for an upgrade discount.

Basic Package E:

This is the same as the basic package without the CD and is electronically delivered.

Designer Plus pre-printed manual only:

This is a pre-printed manual for Designer Plus it is printed on 24# paper, 3 hole punched and bound in a 1" 3-ring binder. This is the same manual available for download.

Training

Both on site and telephone training is available.

Telephone training is recommended because I can walk you through what you are having trouble with when you need the instruction. The rate is $50.00/hr ($12.50/15 min) by credit card, or you can pre-pay (any amount that you have not used will be refunded upon request). 9-9 PST .
On site training is available at $275 per day, departure to return Port Angeles, WA, plus expenses.
E-mail training and support is free but will be answered at my convenience, normally within 2 days.

Training is available for Designer Plus, DesignCAD 3D and BasicCAD for version 4 only.

E-mailed products are delivered free. Express shipping may take longer than 2 days, depending on what is ordered. DesignCAD products are shipped direct from the manufacturer, and Designer Plus from Washington state.

Custom programming is available in BasicCAD for DesignCAD v4 to solve specific drawing needs, (this is how Designer Plus was created). Pricing will depend on the routine needed, but for single user only programs the rate is $50. / hour.
